  • Managed a landfill cell construction from the end stages of the bulk earthworks through the lining, dipole survey and to completion. I managed both direct employees and subcontractors to complete the lining works. Throughout this I was also the direct line to the client, hosting meetings, providing documentation, liaising with the CQA, and back to internal CRE office staff. Further daily/weekly responsibilities are listed below
  • Conduct prestart meetings daily and document all works.
  • Supervise day-to-day construction activities to ensure they align with quality standards and project plans.
  • Maintain communication with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers to build relationships.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of construction activities.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Liaise with client constantly and provided weekly meeting minutes, progress reports, and submitted RFIs and EOTs when required.
  • Assist with cost tracking and financial reporting on the selection of works.
  • Create monthly claims for the client, raise POs, order in materials.
  • Approve and dispute any invoices, employee expenses, operators' timesheets.
  • Produce variation claims where required for any extra works conducted.
  • Complete and maintain detailed records of construction activities, budgets, materials and any changes made to scope of project.
  • Assist in tracking project expenditures to help manage costs and avoid budget overruns.
  • Ensure the project is delivered to overall program to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Set up of ITP's DBYD and SWMS.
  • Conducted fortnightly toolbox talks to ensure safety of all those onsite.

  • As one of 4 onsite engineers, I played a key role in delivering the project, which led to a 3-year contract in the South-West of England.
