I Have worked in a range of roles since becoming a Station Officer. These jobs include Operations, HFB A Platoon Duty Officer, Field Works, Fire Investigation, Vertical Rescue Coordinator, Volunteer Training and Trainee Instructor. Some of my responsibilities have included but not limited to;

• Responded to emergency calls relayed from dispatcher or supervisors and communicated situation details to other officers.
• Delivered high-quality training programs, enhancing employee skill sets and contributing to professional development efforts.
• Coordinated operations with other emergency services as Duty Officer at HFB and as a Field Works Officer in the South West.
• Boosted team morale through recognition of work completed.
• Managed successful projects including trainee physical assessments from conception through to completion, showcasing strong project management abilities.
• Championed the introduction of diversity initiatives and training on A Shift, promoting an inclusive work environment.
• Created and managed project plans, timelines and budgets for works such as the Hobart Fire Station Quiet room.

Fire and Emergency response.

• Responsible for incident response.
• Developing volunteer teams by providing mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for professional growth.
• Responsible for whole of site emergency management including aerodrome safety(whole site not Olympic Dam).
• Delivered effective emergency care during high-stress situations, utilizing critical thinking skills and sound judgment to make life-saving decisions quickly.

• Negotiated contracts with vendors optimally, securing best deals for the organization while maintaining excellent working relationships.
• Developed high-performing teams by providing mentorship and training.
• Enhanced team collaboration through regular communication, and performance evaluations.
• Established a culture of continuous improvement by fostering open communication channels and empowering employees to voice their ideas.

I have been a voted representative of the UFU for most of my TFS career.

• As union Brigade Committee of Management trustee I have been voted in by my peers to make strategic decisions about the direction of the union.
• Union workplace representative acting as the first point of contact for member with with Questions about their working conditions.

• Created a positive environment for the players to thrive.
• Promoted sportsmanship among players with respectful behaviour during games and practices.
• Collaborated with fellow coaches to create practice schedules and enjoyable training sessions.

• Assist with finding homes for pound dogs in the expat community.
