Summary

In January 2020, a relocation to Sydney was the commencement of employment as Technical Manager at the National Electrical and Communications Association. The role was extensive, providing advice to over six thousand electrical and communication companies. The total number of electricians was over one hundred thousand. The role encompassed being responsible for the industry in New South Wales, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania. Many hours were spent on the road to advise state and federal regulators and sat on many committees relating to the electrical and communications industry. The role provided up to date information for the industry on a continual basis using professional relationships with all stakeholders to help achieve this including extensive reading and research.

The majority of my childhood and career as an electrician has been spent overseas or travelling in and around Australia.

I joined Marine Rescue in July 2020 and I have completed General Purpose Hand, Leading Crew and Coxswain ratings. I have recently undertaken and successfully completed Master 24 and Marine Engine Driver 2. I am currently a volunteer at Marine Rescue NSW and I am the Deputy Unit Commander at Marine Rescue NSW Port Jackson, based in Sydney. I look after over one hundred volunteers and two fast response vessels. My skills at boating and rescue are extremely high and I attribute this to the extensive learning of Marine Rescue NSW and the opportunities that they have given me. I have been involved in boating since I was a teenager as my father was an officer in the Royal Australian Navy.

I have been working as an electrician and telecommunications technician for thirty one years' with a broad and varied experience in domestic, commercial, industrial and supply industry fields, with continued and increasing responsibilities for the design, development, mentoring, implementation, maintenance and management relating to complex electrical installations. I have worked in the security field as a security installer and security guard.

I am an organised and dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. I have a willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals and I am a hardworking and passionate job seeker with strong organisational skills eager to secure a position at Teekay working on the water. I am ready to help the team to achieve company goals of maintaining safety on the water with timely outcomes for the task at hand.

I am seeking to maintain a full-time position that offers professional challenges utilising my interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
