Gyasi Powell

I was born in Norfolk, Virginia. I grew up in a military household where my dad was in the Navy for 23 years. I also grew up with four older sisters. When I was eight years old we moved to Jacksonville Florida where I went to elementary, middle, and high school. I went to a public school my freshman year of high school then went to a private catholic school for the last three years. I played varsity basketball all four years and was the captain on my team the last two years of high school. Out of High school I went to a division two school in West Virginia. The name of the school was Davis & Elkins College. I wanted to major in Business out of high school and thats what i majored in at Davis & Elkins. After one year there I transferred to Jacksonville University where i spent the last three years of my undergraduate at. It was a good experience because my family lived in Jacksonville and I was familiar with the community. My goal in this next program is to learn how to take my leadership to the next level to some day run a business and lead others to be successful while becoming successful myself.

I have a young and upcoming clothing brand called "We The Ones." My friend and I started this about 3 years ago and we are trying to expand and get our brand out in the clothing community.
