I have a proven track record across two agents in personal injury schemes, excelling in management and adaptability. Recognised for enhancing team capabilities and operational excellence at ACC, I utilise my abilities to improve recovery and return-to-work strategies and have made significant positive impacts in all areas I have worked.
My current role at Allianz sees me introducing workers to Allianz supports, assessing wellbeing and risk and working with case managers to build a strategy to support recovery and return to work. Throughout the duration of these psychological injury claims, I provide ongoing mental health support to workers, aid them in accessing treatment and other resources, conference with treating healthcare providers and where necessary, provide acute risk and crisis intervention, and suicide first aid.
I have cemented myself well within both the Psych and Clinical Services team and within the Commercial alignment and my work with both has been recognised positively.
As a Team Manager at ACC, I had experience managing diverse teams in both Sensitive Claims and Worker’s Compensation/Personal Injury. I was recognised at a national level for my ability to build capability in teams, manage engagement and balance throughput with agility. I maintained a strong social connection with my teams, have experience managing performance across different work types and have challenged the way that teams think about goals and work targets. In conversations with other stakeholders, I found success in backing up statements with awareness of performance statistics and trends.
As a manager I identified areas for improvement, implementing changes efficiently and effectively and leading my team through these periods of change. I played a key role in the development of resources and supports for LGBTQIA+ clients and staff, ran workshops on how to have constructive conversations with diverse clients with leadership teams across New Zealand and was chairperson for the national ACC Pride Network.
I assisted with programs educating employers on return-to-work planning benefits and in the importance of ‘recovery at work’, encouraging the engagement of light duties plans and ran training on holding conferences with employers.
As a case manager in Sensitive Claims at ACC, I worked alongside mental health providers to coordinate and facilitate treatment and social work for individuals who had experienced sexual abuse.
I have experience having difficult conversations with trauma survivors about their treatment and their abuse and have used my compassion, degree, and knowledge of available services to navigate these contacts well. My attitude and my work allowed me to stand out in this role and to find success in leading the same team.
In personal injury I was responsible for conferencing with treating healthcare providers, and injured workers, coordinating return to work plans and managing recovery and return to work timeframes. Maintaining relationships with employers, occupational therapists and other rehab providers was also essential.
Throughout my studies I worked in part-time permanent roles in retail teams at two different large retailers. At both I quickly moved into specialty roles and was responsible for training staff.
