Rossie Young People's Trust is a multi-award winning, trauma informed child and youth care organisation that provides support and accommodation for young people aged 10-18 years old, who have been exposed to multiple adverse childhood experiences resulting in many complex needs and vulnerabilities. In my role as a Residential Care Worker, it was my responsibility to provide a safe, caring environment to the young people residing at Rossie and to build positive professional relationships with the young people and other professionals to ensure that their physical, emotional, social, health and educational needs are met.

• Supported young people with their daily lives and established routines, which included; personal hygiene, getting ready for school, medication administration, meals, activities and bedtime routines.
• Utilized trauma-informed practice training to build trust and strengthen relationships with young people.
• Responded to response calls as part of a designated response team to support young people in the event of an incident and supported the young people to regulate using de-escalation techniques.
• Maintained accurate and appropriate record keeping related to the young persons care and compiled reports for presentation at hearings, courts and reviews.
• Acted as 'key worker' when identified for individual young people and played a vital role in the assessment of the young persons needs and individual placement plans and worked collaboratively with the families and other professionals involved in the young persons care.

Sense Scotland is a charity and specialised social care provider supporting people with communication support needs and their families. In my role as a Support Practitioner I provided emotional and practical support to 8 individuals in a residential setting who have a varying diagnosis', including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Aspergers, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD and hearing impairment.

• Supported individuals in all aspects of daily living, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, finances, activities and medication - while supporting them to meet their goals.
• Adapted my communication methods, including British Sign Language and Makaton, to meet the individual's communication needs.
• Supported individuals to a number of concerts, festivals and holidays, including a four night trip to Berlin on a 1:1 support basis.

My position of a senior waiting staff member gave me experience of supervising staff ensuring we were giving the best service possible and efficient running of the restaurant. My duties included;

• Provided support to colleagues should any issues arise.
• Managed customer complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
• Took orders on a till.
• Made and served hot/cold drinks and food.
• Maintained a clean working space and restaurant.

My role as a Barmaid allowed me to improve my abilities of working in a fast paced environment and building good rapport with customers. My duties included;

• Serving drinks and food
• Cash handling
• Maintaining a clean bar.
• Ensuring customers had an enjoyable time by engaging in conversation and demonstrating excellent customer service.

My role as a Sales Assistant in a men's clothing store built on my customer service skills and allowed me to assist customers using my product knowledge.

• Till sales and cash handling.
• Product merchandising and stock replenishment.
• Taking stock and audits.
• Measuring customers for suit fittings.

As a support service assistant I developed my IT skills. I provided support to the support services manager to complete the day to day tasks of the office dealing with National Railcards, Disabled Railcards and Transport for London Oyster Cards. My duties included;

• Data input
• Cash handling
• Processing and fulfilling oyster card orders
• Inputting Railcard application forms
• Answering calls and dealing with queries
