Paramedic

  • Began P1T at Haberfield super station working through the pandemic. Solidified my university learnings and continued with self development
  • Worked for 6 months at Coonamble Station. Gained invaluable experience working on call, single responding and being tasked as forward commander for two major incidents including an MVA and quad bike roll over. These skills were directly transferable to the Station Officer role
  • Returned to Concord station where I have continued to strive to improve my role as a P1 with self learning and attendance at a variety of CPD days
  • Have requested students and graduates to continue my people management skills

Acting Station Officer

  • Two tenures as ASO from 10/2022 - 12/2022 and 11/2023 - 12/2023
  • Fulfilled the role of ASO during Concord reopening, set up a number of filing systems, stores layout and building and maintenance requests
  • Completed EMR and P5/P2 audits, S8 audits on QARS weekly, non restricted medication audits and stores orders
  • Created station specific procedures for stores ordering to ensure adequate stock levels were maintained
  • Maintained a safe fleet of operational vehicles through liaison with Workshops, MEMU, staff and managers
  • Liaised with Duty operations managers regarding staff performance and where possible requesting feedback for myself
  • Directly responsible for the implementation of medic fit at Concord Station, liaising with key stakeholders to facilitate this
  • Organised an educational forum where Concord staff are able to share insights from challenging patients, research articles and learnings from conferences
  • Created a Station Officer guide with instructions on how to perform the ASO role, including MyShift access, audit access, onboarding new staff and key contacts list

  • Showed initiative and problem solving by improving safety in the clinic through booking high falls risk patients in quiet periods to allow higher supervision and implemented blood pressure stations to ensure patients were safe to exercise
