  • Assist in statewide emergency management and disaster response, namely flood and storm events, as well as urban and bush search and rescue operations, and bushfire management.
  • Conduct frequent risk assessments to identify hazards, to ensure the safety of emergency responders and community members.
  • Communicate with and manage a range of stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, local councils, service providers, and affected community members.
  • Frequently refine and update knowledge and skills in relation to risk management and disaster response. Currently trained in Storm Ground and Heights Operations, with the aim of pursuing a pathway into Flood Rescue Operations.

Security Risk Analyst

  • Work within the Sydney team as part of Willis Towers Watson's in-house, 24/7 risk advisory, and crisis management operations centre.
  • My responsibilities within this role are two-pronged, encompassing crisis management duties and risk advisory services.
  • Crisis management duties involve the initial triaging of clients' crises, namely kidnappings for ransom, active assailants and terror events, and political and medical repatriations.
  • I advise and ensure that the affected client has followed due process in the aftermath of a crisis, and that any immediate danger is mitigated.
  • Subsequently, I engage all relevant international and domestic stakeholders to assist in the proper management of crises worldwide, and maintain communication with clients to ensure their cases are sufficiently managed.
  • Responsibilities within Alert-24's risk advisory function include the constant monitoring and reporting of global events to advise clients in instances where their assets and personnel are affected.
  • Produce bespoke intelligence reports to help inform clients and stakeholders' business decisions. Such reports are used to help inform decisions pertaining to employee evacuations, market entries, and the implementation of appropriate risk management protocols.
  • Part of the initial two-person team in charge of creating and producing Alert-24's suite of e-learning packages. Such training packages include travel risk management, kidnap response and survival, and active assailant prevention.
  • Frequently present to internal stakeholders on global events to help direct business decisions and the provision of services to clients.

  • Researcher within the Compliance, Forensics and Intelligence department of global risk and security consultancy Control Risks.
  • My duties involved undertaking local and multijurisdictional investigations into individuals and corporations, to identify any factors which may threaten our clients’ reputation, integrity and the safety and security of their employees and assets. Complex investigations into organisations’ ownership structures to identify the ultimate beneficial owners and their associations, including political, professional and social connections.
  • Such investigations uncovered instances of corporate malfeasance, insolvency and bankruptcy, personal criminal connections, and conflicting political associations.
  • Undertook regular monitoring activities on subjects that have threatened physical harm to clients' employees, to help employ effective threat mitigation strategies.
  • Additionally, I conducted investigations alongside my colleagues in the dedicated Geopolitical Risks Analysis unit and Crisis Security Consulting department to evaluate the harm presented to our clients by global events.

  • Helped organise and operate weekly boxing classes for sufferers of Parkinsons Disease, designed to leverage the cognitive and physical demands of non-competitive boxing exercises to reduce the physical and mental symptoms of Parkinsons Disease.
  • Responsibilities included managing weekly exercises schedules for classes, coaching sessions of up to 15 participants and providing one-on-one assistance to participants requiring individualised tutelage.
