As an Honours student at the University of Melbourne, I am deeply immersed in biomedical research. This journey has been shaped by a strong drive to contribute to meaningful scientific discoveries, particularly in obesity and metabolic diseases. My work with animal models has equipped me with practical skills and a deep understanding of the complexities involved in translational research. I have hands-on experience conducting intricate animal studies, from administering dietary interventions to ensuring ethical care and maintaining high-quality data collection. Additionally, I have gained significant expertise in data analysis (using R studio packages such as DESeq2), which complements my laboratory skills and strengthens my ability to interpret complex biological data critically. Driven by curiosity, I have honed my capacity to think critically and adapt to the unexpected, which is common when working with live models. This has fostered resilience and a deep appreciation for the complexities of biological systems, motivating me to push boundaries in my research.
