- Surgery - Setting up surgery room for the day, providing provide the correct equipment for the vet depending on what surgery they are doing, draw up medication directed by vets, sterile clip and scrub every patient depending on the location and what procedure being done, monitor patients during anesthetics, clean up after every surgery
- Client care - Greeting clients, providing quality customer service, booking clients in, triage, selling OTC products, answering phones, scanning, replying to emails, providing clients with information about pricing, giving clients information about their pets especially new parents
- Consulting - Provide post op consult to see how patients are doing after surgery, provide free dental checks and dental advice, provide injection (Beransa, Cartrophen, Solensia, Cytopoint or any injection directed by the vets)
- Recovery - Discuss estimate and consent with clients, TPR patients, Admit patients to surgery, provide hand over to surgery team details and extra procedures clients have requested, provide comfort to patients while they wait, help surgery nurse set up surgery for next patient or draw up medication, Recover patients (once up, feed, walk and provide blankets, water), create recovery bag for each patient with post op care and information, discharge patients (discuss with clients about recovery and booking in post op rechecks)
- Rounds - Travel with vets to large animal calls - monitor patients under anesthetic, assist vet, recover patients, draw up any medication directed by vet
- Assist in house call visit (ie
- Puppy vaccination, QOL check, behaviour consults, home euthanasia)
- Clinic - Assist vets with any work ups, clean all consult rooms, washing, draw up water for injection, help nurses with any jobs
- On call - Provide emergency care to animals after hours, assist vets in any emergency, monitor anesthetics, recover patients, provide first aid to any animal, answer phone calls and triage, go out to house calls and large animal emergencies
