Tutor
I became a maths tutor in year 12 to aid students find motivation to improve themselves and enjoy maths. I tutored 4 children, two in primary and two in highschool. Each having a different personality I had to change my approach for each. For example one student learned visually so we'd go outside and play games that related with addition, subtraction and multiplication, whilst the other student learnt by simply doing practise questions so our lessons were often quiet but filled with practise questions and a whiteboard just incase they needed help.
I had a google classroom for each student to give the homework and with the students in primary I often communicated with their parents to let them know about their childs improvements.
Further:
- Provided one-on-one tutoring sessions, tailoring instruction to meet the specific needs of each student while promoting independent learning skills.
- Collaborated with fellow tutors to develop effective strategies for addressing diverse student needs and abilities. These fellow tutors were my friends too, from them I was inspired to have a google classroom
- Maintained detailed records of student progress, using data to inform future instruction and target areas for improvement.
