• Field service support on Diggers and Drills

• Working with heavy crane lift teams removing heavy components from machine decks & removing Large Hydraulic cylinders & hoses out of EWPs.
• Engine changes, pump changes.
• Carry out digger swing bearing and major module replacements.
• Performed routine and preventative maintenance on dozers, haul trucks, Large excavators and Drill rigs.
• Scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and kept equipment service records.
• Fitted bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Diagnosed faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such ET and CAT SIS.

• Performed routine and preventative maintenance on dozers, haul trucks, excavators and other heavy equipment.

• Carried out fire suppression audits, repairs and services to Qtec and chubb fire suppression systems on mobile plant.

• Carried out refueling of mining mobile plant, Diggers, dozers, water pumps, riveer pumps.

• Back up diesel fitter when diesel fitters took leave.

• Ordered parts necessary for vehicle repairs and new installations.

• Carried out repairs on Road train Kenworth prime movers and belly dump trailers.

Field service Fitter. Goonyella is one of the largest autonomous haulage mine sites there is. We have 930E autonomous dumpies and 9800 liebherr diggers loading them 24/7.

My Job role with BHP is to maintain the digger fleet with the planned scheduled work or breakdowns, im shifted where im needed. From large componant change outs working with cranes from an EWP baskets to small electrical and hydraulic repairs and service work. loading the field support equipment on tilt trays to operating the Franna crane.

We have a small team to get the job done which makes the workload quiet large at times.
