My name is Harry Callender, I am almost 19 years old, and I am coming up to the end of my first year out of school.
I had been working with a local electrician during my last two years of school, where I started my apprenticeship in February 2024 as a school-based student, doing one day a week and on school holidays. Unfortunately, my employer wasn't in a position to carry on my apprenticeship full-time. I also worked for our family business on school holidays and weekends doing fencing, which involved pulling down old fences, building new fences, doing deliveries, some welding, and also running the shop. I sought another apprenticeship with an electrical and air conditioning company, with whom I'm still currently employed, but the work is starting to slow down, and I'm finding myself doing the same servicing of air conditioners and not learning anything new. I want to challenge myself, and I think joining the oil and gas industry would do this.
I think I would be an asset to your company, as I am not scared of hard work and am also very reliable. I have my own transport, have a manual license, and currently hold my green P's.
