  • Electricity base load reduction, reduced electricity usage at the site on non-production days, and assisted in shifting the electrically intense activities to cheaper times of the day
  • Payment rectification through SAP, assisted in moving high-cost utility bills to FI (Financial Accounting) payments from cost control, which contributed to more streamlined payments and minimal blocked invoices
  • Recycled water expansion project managed the installation of a filter system to collect water post-rinse, as well as the expansion of recycled water to the packaging line lube system, which granted an estimated saving of $120,000 annually
  • Pasteuriser dosing system upgrade, Supervised and installed a new dosing system for the tunnel pasteurisers to minimise chemical usage and produce pasteurised beer with minimum utility spend. Estimated savings of $80,000 annually.
  • EOL (end of life) air compressor replacement, coordinated removal of an old end-of-life compressor, and installation of the new, reliable compressor with an optimiser to supply compressed air to the plant, estimated savings of $50,000 annually
  • Brine temperature efficiency increased the site's brine temperature to reduce ambient gains by 2°C, with estimated savings of $0.12/kWh or a 15% reduction in electricity base load on the brine refrigeration system
  • Trade waste automatic sampling, Automation of the sampling system to ensure the sample taken is properly agitated and taken at a higher flow rate which provides a true reflective reading of the BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) suspended solids with estimated savings of $120,000 annually.
  • Rainwater harvesting system to reduce mains water usage in cooling towers, reduced site's water usage by 30,000 kL annually
  • Air compressors discharge heat to preheat boiler feed water to 90 °C, reducing natural gas usage for boiler steam generation
  • Candy drying cycle optimisation and load shedding to reduce refrigeration load on site when dryers were not in use

Accomplishments

  • Certificate of appreciation at Carlton and United Breweries for contributing to achieving a key milestone of optimising the Carbonation Plan, and achieving zero buy-in for 140 days
  • HSE Award 2024 at Mondelez International for outstanding efforts to support the Scoresby team for a three-year cross-assessment and achieving a status as an interdependent site
