As the director of Sal Transport Group, I have operated my own business managing all aspects of day to day operations while building and maintaining strong relationships withe clients. I focus on providing a reliable service, clear communication, and efficient scheduling to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth completion of work tasks. This experience has strengthened my skills in time management, problem solving, and customer service, while reinforcing the importance of professionalism and consistency in business operations.


Over the years as a owner operator, the journey so far has allowed me to work with many various Transport and Logistics companies.


The duties of being an owner operator working alongside other Transport and Logistics companies were:


  • Representing myself and other Transport companies in a precessional manner.
  • Dealing with Transport Brokers on a daily basis to ensure all scheduled freight was completed in a timely manner.
  • Being a fleet controller of over 12 sub-contractors/ owner operators ranging from Light rigid trucks, to B-double sized trucks and making sure their daily tasks ran as smoothly as possible.
  • Managing daily warehouse operations such as, the loading and unloading of Line-haul trucks that were scheduled for daily arrivals and departures.
  • Making sure all scheduled freight on the line-haul trucks arrived safely and efficiently.
  • Checking off all scheduled freight to ensure customer satisfaction. Making there were no errors in any consignments/no missing freight.
  • Using RF scanners to scan freight on and off the truck.
  • Managing inventory.
  • While also managing all daily warehouse duties, I was also making sure all customer emails and phone calls were being attended to.
  • Loading and unloading of daily trucks, as it was my duty to make sure the trucks operated in a timely manner, and to ensure all tasks were completed for the day.
  • Picking and Packing freight for certain companies to make sure the freight was delivered efficiently.
  • Maintaining client/broker relations whilst also working with drivers to make sure all parties were satisfied.
  • Making sure all driver paperwork/rusnheets were up to date to provide proof of deliveries to all customers/brokers.
