At IVF Australia, I work closely with Dr Katherine Whitton in her team to ensure her patients had a supported IVF journey. This includes:

  • Supporting women in their fertility journey, from the start to IVF to 8 weeks of pregnancy
  • Helping Dr Whitton with her gynaecological and obstetric clinics
  • Telehealth and face to face appointments educating women the menstrual cycle, how IVF works and demonstrations on how to use subcutaneous injections at home.
  • Skills obtained in Intravaginal ultrasound for follicle tracking and endometrial thickness, phlebotomy, artificial insemination and assisting doctors with embryo transfers
  • Working with doctors to interpret results and calling patients with plans and instructions
  • Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams including but not limited to counselling services, donor teams, doctors, secretaries and embryologists.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Worked full time from March 2022-February 2023. Now working in the NICU casual pool. Skilled gained whilst working in the NICU included:

  • Administered medications whilst monitoring the neonates closely for any deterioration
  • Building strong relationships with parents by providing emotional support throughout their NICU stay.
  • Supported mothers by providing assistance and education on breast milk expression techniques for their babies and promoting breastmilk. This also included assisting post-natal mothers with breastfeeding education.
  • Improved patient outcomes by providing high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill neonates.
  • Gained skills in respiratory support and ventilation, using the Neopuff to resuscitate unwell neonates.
