Howard Tanner Drawing Prize (School Speech Night Special Prize)
For this prize I had to draw something realistic, It could of been still life drawing, a building/buildings, a portrait or self portrait etc. For this, I drew a building located in my school where students learn in. I took a picture of this building, printed it out, and used it as a reference for my drawing. To execute this drawing well, i used coloured pencils matching the colours in the photo and added every little detail to the drawing that was in the picture to really uplift the realistic effect of it. When I finished, I then handed it in to the Senior School Art Department, along with many other students who entered, they then mark it based on how realistic it looks, what kind of techniques were used and how it was interpreted by the student. The Head of School announces the winner at the Prize List Assembly (end of year). I won the prize last year and received my award at Speech Night once school finished.
