Primary objective is to provide a high level of secretarial, administrative and finance support to Northern Command while working in a high-pressure environment with changing deadlines and priorities.
Northern Command is responsible for the provision of policing services to approximately one half of the Northern Territory. This includes the Katherine Division, Northern Division and Central Division.
The administration assistant’s role consists of key duties and responsibilities as below:
Record Correspondence on the Records Management system including memos, ingoing and outgoing documents for housing, lease renewals, archives, and general correspondence.
Manage housing spreadsheets and updating with required information including the Member phone listings. Updating member housing accommodation database to ensure all information is correct and up to date.
Prepare and record ingoing and outgoing paperwork for members and other housing paperwork such as Head Leases, Property Condition Reports as requested by the Regional Housing and Relocations Officer.
Invoice coding and processing on NTG Pay for Northern Command.
Creating Purchase orders for Housing, Admin and Northern Command.
Conduct ingoing and outgoing property inspections. Prepare and record excess water bills for head leased properties.
Order stores for Katherine Police Station, and stationary as required. Order/Purchase stocks of water supplies, tea, coffee, milk for General Duties members and ensure stock is up to date for any unforeseen weather events or crisis situations.
Order/ Purchase prisoner clothing and ensure adequate stock is always available in the Watchhouse.
Provide a mail service for the Command daily. Northern Command mail service externally.
Assist with pick up/drop off Katherine Police Vehicles to and from mechanical repairers. Also running errands when necessary to collect keys or have keys cut for members and Katherine Police Housing.
Providing relief services for the Northern Command Administration team.
Including taking meeting Minutes. Scheduling Teams meetings for Northern Command regular meetings weekly, as well as emergency meetings.
Assisting Commanders office daily duties.

I hold a current Northern Territory Driver’s license and have a comprehensive understanding of the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services principles.
