- I first started out as a raspberry picker and a general farm hand. Our main tasks were to pick, prepare coir, plant plugs, pruning, and cutting and planting strawberry runners for growing.
- I now help with the general maintenance and check the farm for issues in need of attention, such as end posts to mend, broken pipes to fix and re-running strings.
- I also help with the propagation of strawberry and raspberry plants. This meant taking cuttings from plants for growing, ensuring optimal growth conditions and selecting the best plants for sales and growing.
- I spray the correct chemical at each stage of plant development to ensure the best protection of young plants and mature plants.
