Pre-Activity Safety Inspections
- Conduct routine visual inspections of all elements and activity areas prior to each session
- Check integrity of poles, ladders, high lap splices, anchor points, guy lines, and rope systems in accordance with ACOP daily inspection protocols
- Inspect for fallen branches, unstable trees, and environmental hazards
- Suspend off-ground activities during wind conditions exceeding Force 5 (17-21 knots/19-24 mph/29-38 km/h) or when lightning breaches the 30/30 rule
Emergency Rescue Procedures
- Execute unconscious casualty rescue protocols requiring minimum five-person team and physical lift procedures as detailed in ACOP
- Coordinate retrieval rescue for guests stranded at wire sag point using retrieval rope system attached by accompanying adults
- Immediately call for assistance when emergency rescue situations arise
Guest Briefing & Safety Protocols
- Deliver comprehensive session introductions and safety briefings including landing technique demonstrations as per ACOP
- Demonstrate correct foot positioning for controlled stopping before zip wire terminus
- Instruct accompanying adults on retrieval procedures for guests returning to sag span
- Verify guests are physically and cognitively capable of executing safe landing procedures before participation
Platform Operations & Dispatch Procedures
- Maintain personal safety attachment to platform safety systems at all times when operating in attachment and dispatch areas
- Hold guests in designated waiting area until called forward by dispatch instructor
- Attach zip trolleys to cable only within designated attachment area
- Conduct pre-dispatch safety reminders including non-inversion protocols and landing techniques
- Perform Final Departure Checks (FDC) including physical 'squeeze' check of karabiner's before each dispatch
- Establish clear communication signals with landing zone personnel to confirm 'all clear' status before launch
- Remove safety chains/cow's tails only after completing all checks and confirming guest understanding
- Secure dispatch gate before calling next participant through holding area
- Enforce maximum weight limit of 120kg for all zip wire participants
- Identified issues, analyzed information and provided solutions to problems.
- Worked effectively in fast-paced environments.
