During my fourth placement and final placement as a Student Nurse I completed the following skills within my scope;

• Administered medications via oral, IV, and intramuscular injections and monitored responses.
• Inserting and removing Indwelling catheters.
• Providing end-of-life care.
• Conducting ECGs
• Chest pain assessments, interventions.
• Diabetes management
• Admission and discharge.
• Pre-operative and Post-operative care
• NGT care, Drain care, Stoma care, Wound care
• Documentation of all nursing assessment
• 4x patient load

During my third placement as a Student Nurse I conducted the following skills within my scope;

• Administered medications via oral, IV, and intramuscular injections and monitored responses.
• Monitored patient vital signs, reporting any changes.
• Administering Insulin and monitoring BGL.
• Documentation of Skin checks, FBC, BC, medication charts, progress notes etc.
• Performing correct hygiene when entering infection controlled areas.
• Performing wound care of surgical wounds, complex and simple wounds.

During my second placement as a Student Nurse in a mental health hospital I conducted the following skills within my scope;

• Advocated for patients whom were not able to do so.
• Performed MSE's
• Developed therapeutic relationships.
• Conducted interventions and de-escalation techniques to ensure staff and patient safety.
• Developed strong rapport with patients, fostering trust and open communication essential for effective treatment plans.

During my first placement as a Student I performed the following skills in under my scope.

• Participated in hands-on clinical training under the supervision of experienced nursing professionals to refine practical skills.
• Accurately documenting vital signs, reporting changes to RN.
• Performing BGL monitoring.
• Performing ADL's, making beds, showering, toileting and basic hygiene support.
• Accurately documenting Pt behaviour
• Performing Neurological/ Neurovascular assessments.
