A very diverse degree. I did a wide range of multimedia related to illustration, design, communications, media, advertising, design, marketing, and the arts. I’ve been described as an all-rounder, where I can show my talents in a wide range of fields.
Below are some of the courses and projects I wish to highlight:
Course: Popular Culture Studies - Distinction average.
Course: Reading Space and Place - High Distinction Average. A course that examines literary treatments of travel, mobility, space and place using a wide range of historical and theoretical perspectives. The highest mark I received for a major assignment is 100%. It involves writing analyses of weekly readings across the entire semester.
Course: Storytelling - Distinction average.
Course: Introduction to Cinema Studies - High Distinction average.
Course: Making Comics - Distinction Average. This is also part of the Creative Writing and Media degrees. I have the highest average marks in this class, and in my second presentation, I received 84.5%, which is the highest mark for this major assignment and is the only person in class to receive a HD for this assignment. As part of this assignment, I presented a concept for a story.
Course: Story and Place in Media - Distinction Average

Tutor Feedback:
Hi Hung,
I like the opening to your piece – you unfurl the way that Place can construct someone’s identity, or the implied/ embodiment of someone via their place. You showcase this very well, through a personal lens detailing the various aspects of how Place can be ingrained with experiences and emotionality. Your archival stills bring a temporal element to the piece and you’ve overall paid attention to shot composition, framing and light. There is a wonderful delicacy to the piece and you have kept a cohesively soft pace throughout, while remaining engaging and dynamic. Audio levels mixed well.
Grade: 89.5%
Touched by Sound (Short Film - Director, Writer, Editor, Composer, Storyboard Artist, Musician). This is part of a major assignment for course called Making Embodiment, a course that asks “how might we make media that evokes a strong feeling of what it is to be and do a body in the world? How might such media work explore embodied knowledges of the body and of the world? That is, how might media work explore what it is to be a seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting, smelling body-in-action?”
This short film (along with other media artefacts) was part of assignment where I wrote over 3000 words and I received 88%, which was the highest mark in class for this assignment. For this course, I received a Distinction average.
Co-Creative Director, Illustrator, Website Designer for My Fitzroy (2020), which showcases the The indigenous history of the Fitzroy area.
We have to tell the indigenous history of an area through a map on a website, fictional or otherwise - and we can do it however we want to. I came up with a vision for our project, then, all by myself, designed and created a concept document for a fictional website from scratch, where I wrote and illustrated everything. My group project received a Distinction mark.
My tutor wrote in regard to what I made:
“Your media artefact itself is really excellent and I particularly enjoyed your Prototype Website Document; the visuals are just great! It’s clear how thoroughly you’ve considered user experience and the various ways they can interact with the website (in addition to the interactive nature of the project). E.g. changing the font size (a subtle but important detail in media consumption, I think), or colour-coding for types of media.”
I am adaptable and have the ability to realise my potential in new mediums - to be an all-rounder. In my creative endeavours, I always place emphasis on being resourceful and inventive.
Creative Director, Illustrator, Website Designer and Co-Interviewer for The People of Bowen Street (2024)
A project that features a website (fictional or real) that has a map that tells the “untold story” of a location in Melbourne through the use of sound pieces. (I also was the organiser for the interviews and sound pieces, too) I stepped into the de facto leadership role, where I led the project’s creative direction. There was no conversation to decide that—it just naturally happened. I quickly shaped it into the most organised and efficient group in class. My group members described me as responsible, and one of them said, “We’re really lucky to have you.”
For this project, I designed and created concept documents for a fictional website from scratch (which I attached in my folio), which delighted my group members when they saw it. My tutor called it “excellent.” For this project, we received a Distinction.
I did another similar project, My Fitzroy (2020) - which is listed above - where I created a fictional website that shows the Indigenous history of an area. I designed the interactive map for it
