KWUP Upgrade Project – Kwinana Plant

• Deliver electrical engineering support across a major mineral processing fixed plant upgrade, covering design review, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Prepare and review technical documentation including scopes of work, RFQs, work packs, drawings, cable schedules and equipment data for LV distribution, MCCs, DBs, motors, field devices, lighting, earthing and cable systems.
• Carry out site verification of existing electrical infrastructure and compare field installations against drawings, specifications and project requirements before construction or modification works proceed.
• Review electrical drawings and vendor documentation to identify design gaps, installation constraints and constructability issues, working with the project team to develop practical site solutions.
• Provide engineering support during installation, including cable routing, equipment positioning, terminations, local control stations, isolators, junction boxes and electrical interfaces.
• Support PLC, Remote I/O and SCADA-related activities by reviewing control drawings, I/O information and field interfaces, assisting with verification, troubleshooting and commissioning of plant control systems.
• Inspect completed electrical works and support testing, defect close-out, commissioning and operational handover.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, contractors, suppliers and project engineers to resolve technical queries and keep project activities aligned with safety, quality and programme requirements.
• Maintain accurate engineering records through controlled redlines, drawing updates, as-built documentation, technical actions, test records and handover documentation.

• Successfully developed and delivered electrical scopes of work for project installation and completion activities, providing contractors with clear technical requirements, deliverables and execution expectations.
• Improved drawing and documentation accuracy through detailed site verification, field checks and incorporation of installation changes into controlled redline and as-built documentation.
• Supported successful installation and close-out of electrical works by resolving technical and constructability issues between drawings, existing plant conditions and contractor execution.
• Completed Schneider Electric training in EcoStruxure Control Expert and AVEVA Plant SCADA 2023, strengthening practical knowledge of industrial automation, PLC and SCADA systems.

Public Transport Authority – Radio Systems Replacement Project (RSR)

• Supported passenger train modifications as part of the PTA Radio Systems Replacement Project.
• Routed, connected and terminated power and communication cabling for onboard radio equipment.
• Interpreted wiring diagrams, schematics and work instructions to complete installations accurately.
• Performed continuity checks and basic functional testing to confirm correct electrical connections.
• Identified wiring discrepancies and installation issues, escalating them to supervisors for resolution.
• Assisted with fault finding and rectification during modification works.
• Maintained high standards of safety, workmanship and quality while working within active rail depot environments.

Responsibilities

• Delivered electrical design and engineering support for brownfield oil and gas modifications across QatarEnergy facilities, from initial site assessment through detailed design and construction support.
• Produced technical deliverables including single-line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts, cable schedules, specifications, datasheets, calculations and material take-offs.
• Used ETAP to carry out load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination and motor-starting studies, supporting equipment selection and overall system performance.
• Completed sizing and technical assessments for LV/MV cables, switchboards, transformers, generators, UPS and battery systems, considering load demand, voltage drop, fault levels and project requirements.
• Evaluated vendor drawings, datasheets and technical submissions, resolving engineering queries and checking alignment with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Undertook field surveys to confirm existing conditions, cable routes, earthing arrangements, lighting, small power and equipment interfaces before finalising design changes.
• Collaborated with QatarEnergy representatives, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues, ensuring practical implementation of designs on site.
• Facilitated construction activities by addressing technical queries, updating drawings, and providing engineering input to align design with actual field conditions.
• Documented engineering decisions through concise calculations, reports and drawings, providing a clear technical basis for review, approval and execution.
