Work History

GENERAL MANAGER, HOME & LEISURE/AVS/MVR

AMAZON.COM.AU
06.2017 - 04.2024
  • As part of the Australian Retail Leadership Team, I built and executed a strategy that took the Home & Leisure business from zero to circa $1.5bn in 6 years, building a high performing and engaged Vendor Management team and creating process and mechanisms to take the business to positive operating margin faster than any other locale globally
  • I developed strong relationships with our strategic vendor partners to drive mutually beneficial outcomes and expedite profitable growth.
  • I was responsible for centralising, scaling and standardising our Amazon Vendor Services (AVS) business (a paid service for strategic partners to accelerate their growth on Amazon) During this time the AVS Team grew from 6 Brand Specialists to 73, servicing 70% of the total AU Retail GMS. To achieve this I built a talent pipeline through repurposing our intern program and formalising a graduate scheme to support and upskill graduate hires from day one.
  • I scaled the Australian selection addition process (the key element of the Amazon growth flywheel) and tail vendor account management by building an effective Mass Vendor Relations team. This team comprised of 3 elements to Identify the most relevant missing selection for our customers and build tools and processes to reduce friction in adding selection (Selection Programmes), Work with new vendors to add relevant selection (Retail Vendor Recruitment) and Manage tail vendors at scale through one-to-many interactions and self-service training (Mass Vendor Management)
  • As part of the AU Commercial Leadership Team, I worked to shape the broader strategy for the total AU retail business (Vendor Management, Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain and Programmes). I worked with the Seattle Expansions Team and STeam to review performance across the business and build out operating plans that drove customer acquisition, increasing capabilities and efficiency to grow the Australian business
  • I was a Recruitment Bar Raiser and a member of the Core Bar Raiser group that determined Amazon's Bar Raiser recruitment strategy across the APAC region. I conducted more than 600 interviews across the Amazon businesses (Retail, 3P, Audible, Devices, AWS, Operations, Advertising)
