When working at Statewest Group, I was employed as an electrician, mainly doing maintenance work for B.H.P. smelter in Kalgoorlie and shutdowns, where I was used as a shutdown supervisor to organize day-to-day work, allocate jobs for the day, and source parts for my team.y team.

I then moved into a field service role in the workshop, where I was mainly in charge of myself to maintain and repair remote exploration camps for I.G.O. in the northern and southern areas of the goldfields, including exploration camps north of Nova. I gained a great relationship with I.G.O., and I loved the remote work. I then became a step-in supervisor in the workshop, where I took on day-to-day projects and was involved in quoting and seeing projects through.

While working with Statewest Group, I gained great knowledge working, repairing, and installing small generators. I enjoyed this work as it tested my ability as an electrician, as I enjoy learning new things and fault-finding new scenarios.

I was employed at Beltech Engineering as a supervisor for small projects and shutdowns for Glencore at McArthur in the Northern Territory. My main job was to organize and assist with daily tasks as required by the project manager, including assisting where needed to get the job done in a safe and productive manner.

I was also involved in stripping and rebuilding large Outotec filter presses, where I was in charge of removing, then reinstalling, the electrical components of the press. I found this work interesting as I had never seen or worked on this type of machinery before.

As an electrician at Sunrise Dam, I had exposure to the following equipment.

• 3.3 kV, 11 kV, and 415 V electrical distribution.
• ABB/ Lucy Switch gear.
• ABB/PDL/WEG VVVF Drives.
• Allen-Bradley PLC-5 programming and troubleshooting.
• Breakdowns on milling, C.I.L., gold room, and crushing circuits.
• Borefield water treatment and sewage plant maintenance.
• Conveyor belt maintenance and calibration.
• Kiln and heater repairs and maintenance.

As an Electrical Supervisor with Byrnecut Mining, I was in charge of the King of the Hills mine site, owned by St Barbara and mined by Byrnecut. My main duties were.

• Electrical supervisor and in-house nominee for the mine site.
• Organize and monitor daily tasks, and assist when needed to ensure work is done in a safe and timely manner.
• Check that all electrical maintenance and installations are done according to the correct procedures and standards of the company, as well as Australian electrical standards.
• Maintain the electrical logbook, and ensure it's up to date and signed off after all installations have been done and checked, and monthly signed off by the client site manager.
• Order and source electrical stores using PRONTO.
• Organize and monitor subcontractors for breakdowns and new installations for the site.
• Training of electrical personnel new to the site, making sure all electrical procedures and practicals are done and understood before entering the workforce.
• Monitor the electrical group by doing several task observations on each member of the group per roster, and log into their training file and the site INX Safety program.
