Summary

A diverse career that includes Teaching at Primary School and High School levels in Maths, Science, Geography and Literature before working in the media industry as an Account Manager. As a teacher I worked as a full-time Teacher employed by the Tasmanian Education Department. Interested in learning and wanting to develop my understanding of the world I moved and lived in Lisbon, Portugal where I taught English to clients contracted by Linguistics De Portugal for a period of twelve months. I returned to Australia to pursue a career in Advertising. I enjoyed a successful career in Media as an Account Manger in Outdoor and Cinema Advertising marketing product for Pearl & Dean in Sydney and Brisbane. I was approached to be employed by this company after a period of time successfully running of a charity called the “Children’s Support Fund” assuming the role of the Public Trustee of this Charity. As an account manager in Sydney for Dean and Deans I was given a very flexible position as an Account Manager where I was employed to develop the below-the-line formats of the organisation to coordinate these with traditional media of magazine, press, television, radio, outdoor and cinema to develop the interest of the market in Poster Adverts. Concentrating on the sampling of food products I staged numerous promotions and co ordinating this activity for direct and agency clients based in Sydney. I was able to distribute up to 100K of product in half an hour through a coordinated approach as expressed by the Transit Industry of Sydney. As a full-service provider of media, I develop as a participating team member various campaigns to market product with various clients including Telstra, Nestle, Netscape, Optus, etc., as well as helping Ken Done market his business interests in the sale of fabric and designer clothing. During my time with Pearl & Dean I was offered a full-time contract to run the agency needs of the companies of Sanitarium Health Food Company as well as Ever Ready Batteries after moving a number of advertising contracts within the Advertising Industry between various Advertising Agencies. While employed with Pearl & Dean I was offered a job with DDB as an Account Manager, this was my dream job that I had worked in life to achieve. I however interested in the development of ideas decided to pursue the idea of placing large format television screens in railway networks. Though my efforts it is unfortunate that my ideas were realised by other parties after seeding the market of Sydney. The introduction of large format displays has since been adopted international since this time at many major railway networks of the world. With my inability to realise my ideas I sought employment in casual relief teaching as my advertising career was over, to then take on a part-time jobs. Moving to Melbourne I first worked with a Mercantile Company as a Debt Collector and then with the insurer GIO in their call centre to maintain a scheduled life in the workforce. During this time I looked after my father in his retirement after he suffered a heart attack. I eventually became his full-time carer. For the last five years looked after his personal and financial life during this time of aged care until his death at 93 years of age. I am a well organised, friendly and a patient person that is empathic to the needs of others. I have experienced many different facets of the business community and wish to resume a working life as an active participant in the Victorian Community. I am computer literate, having desktop publishing experience and have some programming experience on a commercial basis. I am keen to utilise my good communication and organisational skills to further the interests of my employer. I would appreciate your assistance in this matter.
