Working as the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Youth health and Sexual Health at a community controlled Aboriginal Medical Service, During this time I successfully coordinated and delivered primary health care to Indigenous children and young people aged 9-19 in the Broken Hill, Menindee, and Wilcannia region and coordinated and delivered sexual and reproductive health services to the district. During this time I collaborated with a clinical research team from the University of Sydney to successfully develop and implement a clinical nurse specialist managed Hepatitis, BBV and Syphilis disease register in order to manage clinical care across the district that was drastically overdue when i commenced my role.

My duties included:

  • Managing the clinical care of complex and chronic diseases, general health and wellbeing, mental health and schooling and social issues.
