Summary

Dear Glenhaven,

I am writing to express my interest in your organisation's vacancy for a Youth Worker. With my extensive work experience in supporting and mentoring young people from a variety of backgrounds, I am confident that my skills, passion and commitment will allow me to excel in this role.

As a Youth Advisory Board member for the Migrant Resource Centre, I have been able to provide valuable insight and feedback to my fellow board members regarding youth programmes and initiatives. This role has given me the ability to communicate effectively while actively advocating for the needs and perspectives of young people in the community. I have been privileged to develop valuable skills in programme development, leadership and engagement, all of which I believe are valuable in serving, supporting and empowering the youth within your organisation.

As a bi-cultural worker, I have been able to develop my commitment to cultural sensitivity and diversity. I was privileged to have the opportunity to provide vital cultural and social support to individuals from diverse backgrounds, enabling me to promote the integration of these individuals into the community. This role has provided me with crucial interpersonal skills, which I believe are essential in connecting with and supporting young people from diverse backgrounds.

During my role as a supervisor at Berried in Tas, I was able to demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork skills, while also participating in and managing the daily operations and supervising a team of workers. I believe that this role has equipped me with the ability to foster a safe and productive environment which will translate well to fostering a positive and supportive environment for the youth in your organisation.

As a Pharmacy Assistant, I was able to gain valuable knowledge and understanding of health and medication management. Through this role I've been able to see the importance of attention to detail, empathy and effective communication, skills that I'm sure are essential when working with young people.

Being a Youth Worker at Glenhaven is an opportunity for me to combine my diverse experiences and skills in mentoring, guidance and advocacy for young people in need. I am passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals, overcome challenges and take control of their lives. My dedication, adaptability and problem solving skills will make me an asset to your team.

I am committed to empowering the young people in your organisation to reach their full potential. I believe that my experience working with diverse populations has allowed me to understand that each young person is unique, with different interests and needs, and that each deserves all the support they need to grow and thrive. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
Irene
