• I worked for Performance Electrical Contracting for two years, starting my apprenticeship with this company
• It was a small business, and for most of my apprenticeship, I worked closely with Jack, which provided a one-on-one learning experience
• During my time with him, I gained a wide range of skills
• Unfortunately, I was made redundant from this company because the builders Jack was working for went bankrupt and did not pay him
• From around August2024 onward, we experienced a quiet period with few jobs, which ultimately led to Jack being unable to continue employing me
• Throughout my two years with Jack, I primarily worked on various types of residential projects, including new installations, renovations, air conditioning installations, and bathroom renovations
• I also gained experience with smaller commercial jobs, including office fit-outs and restaurants such as Eljannah in Gungahlin, Papa Rich, and Tiger Lane in Civic
• Additionally, I participated in larger commercial projects, such as the Lysaght Warehouse in Hume
• At one point last year, we were involved in a significant project for a building company called Imagine, where we worked on40 townhouses and reached the fit-off stage before the builder collapsed
• This was the largest job I have been a part of

• Demonstrating Appropriate Use of Hazardous Equipment: I was trained on the proper handling and operation of hazardous equipment, emphasizing the importance of safety and compliance with regulations.

• Ensuring Safe Use of Equipment and Tools: I learned to prioritize safety when using tools and equipment, which included performing checks and understanding safety features.

• Installing Fire Modules: I assisted in the installation of fire safety modules, gaining practical experience in fire protection systems.

Overall, my one-week work experience provided me with a foundational understanding of the fire and electrical industry and the importance of safety and teamwork in a professional setting.

This experience provided me the insight in being an electrician and pursuing as my chosen career path.

During my one-week work experience at Titan Electrical in January 2022, I was involved in various electrical tasks that enhanced my understanding of residential electrical work.

• Fit Off Down Lights, GPOs, and Smoke Detectors: I assisted in the final installation and connection of down lights, General Power Outlets (GPOs), and smoke detectors, which involved ensuring they were properly positioned and securely wired.

• Rough In Cable in Renovation: I participated in the rough-in stage of electrical renovations, where I helped run and secure electrical cables within walls and ceilings, preparing them for future connections.

• Installing Ovens: I gained practical experience by assisting in the installation of ovens, which included connecting them to the electrical supply and ensuring they were properly set up for safe use.

• Experience in Roofs of Domestic Houses: I worked in the roofs of residential homes, which provided me with insight into the layout and installation of electrical systems within the building structure.

This experience at Titan Electrical allowed me to engage in various aspects of electrical installation and deepen my knowledge of residential electrical systems.

During 4 weeks work experience at Electro Group in January 2022, I gained valuable insights into the field of solar energy, which was part of my journey as a first-year apprentice electrician. At this stage, I was exploring different areas of electrical work to determine my specific interests within the trade.

• Maintenance of Solar Panels: I assisted in the maintenance of solar panels, which involved checking their functionality and performing necessary upkeep to ensure optimal performance.

• Installing Solar Panels at Retirement Village in Goodwin Farrer: I participated in the installation of solar panels at a retirement village, gaining hands-on experience in setting up solar systems designed to provide renewable energy.

• Running Cable for Solar Panels: I helped run the electrical cables necessary for the solar panel systems, learning about proper installation techniques and safety protocols.

This experience at Electro Group was instrumental in my exploration of the electrical field, as I sought smaller electrical businesses that could provide hands-on opportunities to help me develop my skills and become proficient in my chosen area of interest.

During my time as an Employee at IGA Nicholls from January 2020 to January 2021, I developed a range of skills that contributed to my effectiveness in a retail environment.

• Customer Service Skills: I provided excellent customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries, ensuring a positive shopping experience, and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.

• Adapting to Different Situations: I learned to adapt quickly to various customer needs and store situations, which helped me maintain a calm and efficient atmosphere during busy periods.

• Team Lead: In my role, I occasionally took on team lead responsibilities, guiding and supporting my colleagues to ensure smooth operations and effective teamwork.

• Following Strict Orders: I adhered to strict company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations as well as store protocols.
