Placement Experience

EquipKids completing requirements of current role.

Sunshine Hospital 2020 & 2022 One week observation within the neurology and stroke ward and two-week placement within the rapid assessment and discharge unit. Introduced role of Occupational Therapist, interviewed patients, completed documentation using SOAP notes and ISBAR handovers, collaborated with other health care professionals, demonstrated tasks or exercises for patient to complete. 

On-Campus Simulated Placement / Telehealth Placement 2021 Completed two one week on campus simulated placements. Completed work in homegroups and smaller subgroups. Interviewing primary client and key stakeholders, build upon clinical reasoning, conducted task analysis and case conferences.  

Roslyn Primary School Belmont Completed eight-week unsupervised placement with one student peer. Completed information gathering, assessments (Sensory profile, RCH, FEC, BOT-2), intervention planning, documentation, service evaluation and communication with school aged clients and co-workers.

Research Publication

Complete Honours theisis exploring user perspectives of sensory rooms in public built environments.

Combined with two studies to explore the perspectives of sensory/quiet rooms from various key stakeholders.

Our publication then informed Amaze's Reset Room Design Guide and assisted in improving accessibility to sensory spaces through knowledge of their location.
