Work History

Acting Assistant Director

Jenny’s Kindergarten Mortlake
01.2024 - Current
  • I began my journey at Jenny’s Kindergarten as an educator in the pre-kindergarten room, where I focused on creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children. Recognised for my dedication and leadership skills, where I soon stepped into the role of acting Assistant Director for a period of time. This opportunity allowed me to further develop my leadership abilities while maintaining a strong connection with both the children and the team.
  • Collaborate with the Director to conduct up-to-date risk assessments, revise policies, ensure compliance with procedures, and implement safety measures in accordance with NSW Government regulations.
  • Assisted the Director in managing contractual relationships between families and the service to ensure compliance with NSW Government regulatory standards.
  • Perform room checks to identify and report safety issues, ensuring compliance with work procedures in accordance with NSW Government regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the Director to review staff applications and ensure qualifications and background checks comply with NSW Early Childhood guidelines.
  • Collaborate with, liaise, and consult families regarding child enrolments to ensure each enrolment is handled professionally, meeting the individual needs and goals of each child.
  • Actively engage in staff meetings and collaborative sessions, working across various rooms to achieve shared goals and visions, ensuring alignment with ongoing plans and initiatives.
  • Participate in making complex decisions regarding staff and family matters, such as child protection, by reviewing and analysing available information through a risk-based approach. This method helps identify, assess, and manage risks effectively.
  • Conduct process and policy reviews with the Centre Director, providing personal recommendations for policy changes, updated regulations, and emerging issues aimed at improving the approval process within centre management.
  • Offer valuable advice and recommendations on recruitment applications, ensuring alignment with the centre's values and philosophy.

Room leader and Nominated Supervisor

Cubby College
Concord
01.2021 - 01.2023
  • During my three years at Cubby College, I held roles as a responsible person, nominated supervisor, and room leader in the babies and toddler rooms. I also took on various administrative tasks, including conducting centre tours, managing emails, and organising enrolments. In my first year, I became responsible for overseeing the OOSH program.
  • Maintained and applied up-to-date knowledge of the centre’s operational policies and procedures in my practices as part of my role as Nominated Supervisor.
  • Ensured that both the centre and I adhered to NSW Government National Legislation and principles, adopting best practices as a responsible person and leader.
  • Built and maintained strong relationships with colleagues and the community, ensuring respect and confidentiality at all times to uphold trust and professionalism.
  • Guided colleagues on appropriate practices and procedures to ensure compliance is consistently upheld.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and offer constructive feedback to my team and management for consideration and implementation.

Educator

Concord Occasional Care
Concord
01.2020 - 01.2021
  • I successfully completed my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care as part of my Higher School Certificate. This opportunity allowed me to gain hands-on experience at Concord Occasional Care, where I developed a strong foundation in early childhood education. During my time there, I learned to create and implement diverse, intentional programs tailored to children's individual needs, interests, and developmental stages. I also gained insight into fostering inclusive environments, supporting children's social and emotional growth, and collaborating with families to enhance learning experiences.
