Hello, my name is Isabelle Jacobs, though most people know me as Belle. I grew up in South Australia, but in 2020, I moved to the Gold Coast for a new adventure and to broaden my life experience. Five years later, after gaining invaluable personal and professional growth, I am ready to return home and begin the next exciting chapter of my career. I am completing my Bachelor of Education (Primary) at Southern Cross University and seeking my first full-time teaching role.
My education journey began through my work in Disability support, a field in which I have extensive experience. Since finishing high school, I have worked in multiple roles supporting individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, including at Minda Inc. and HireUp in South Australia. I provided personalised, compassionate care tailored to each individual’s needs. Upon moving to the Gold Coast, I accepted a role as a teacher aide at Currumbin Community Special School — a position that quickly ignited my passion for education. Immersed in the supportive, vibrant school environment, I fell in love with nurturing student growth and learning, and soon after, I enrolled in my education degree.
Since then, I have followed this passion, working as a teacher aide and teacher at Currumbin Community Special School and Mudgeeraba Special School. These schools have shaped me as an educator — their sense of community, commitment to inclusion, and celebration of every student’s unique strengths have deeply inspired me. I particularly value the opportunity to work with students with additional needs, where patience, creativity, and adaptability are key. While on university placement, I also spent time at Benowa Primary and The Southport Preparatory School, where I taught students ranging from those in honours and specialist programs to those requiring high levels of additional support. This experience expanded my understanding of differentiation, deepened my skills in grading and moderation, and further strengthened my confidence in adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
I am a caring, empathetic, and dedicated professional who approaches every task with enthusiasm and integrity. I am disciplined in my work ethic, adaptable to different learning environments, and deeply committed to fostering positive relationships with students and colleagues. I pride myself on being patient, compassionate, and solution-focused, with a strong sense of responsibility and a genuine love of learning and teaching. Above all, I strive to create an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
