Work History

Engineering Technologist

Solar Injection Australia
02.2023 - Current

SANTOS CCS PROJECTS:

  • I had the privilege of working on a Santos CCS project, which involved a set of two chemical injection skids for Moomba Australia (SANTOS).
  • I designed the P&ID, did a mock-up GAD with the inventor, and prepared datasheets, PSV sizing calculations, and a bill of materials.
  • Improved workplace safety by identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate countermeasures.

SANTOS LO HEAT PROJECT:

  • Had an opportunity to lead a Santos project which was a completely automated chemical injection skid with a complete PLC and an HMI setup to Moomba Australia (SANTOS).
  • Developed cost-estimating spreadsheets to effectively estimate and reduce overall cost.
  • Designed the system with my apt knowledge of Autodesk and P&ID considering the different flow rates following the client specifications.
  • Removed all low points and rectified pump cavitation issues caused by a variation during the FAT procedure.

Worley High Pressure Double walled methanol tanks:

  • Had the privilege to work with Worley on this project over the course of the year which has been a repeat project ever since where I had shortened the timeline and increased the profit margins by 15%.
  • Completely Redesigned the double-double-wallemanways walled and tanks, eliminated tank leaks which were seen in previous projects by redesigning the man ways and mating flanges.

Beach Energy Redback Skids :

  • Had the privilege to work on my first huge Hazardous area projects which helped me learn Haz area accreditation and broaden my scope into the world of hazardous oil and gas section, Redesigned the entire system to accommodate Haz area equipment ( service loops, casings for various actuated instruments and so on ), led project meetings.
  • Worked on PSV calculations, and pump flow rates and rectified issues in the airline. Resolved airlocks in the systems and designed a spacer for the tank which helped in easy installation on site.

Origin Energy (Mobile biocide injection skid the first of its kind)

  • Have the privilege to work on one of the most innovative projects I’ve seen in the industry.
  • This has been a long-term project going on for years and since my addition to the project team, it has a new renovated timeline to be due in November end.
  • Redesigned the system to fit 3 different flow rate pumps which were calculated and manufactured based on client specification.
  • Clearly defined a FAT procedure and ITP for testing, and got the skid approved by a TPI for an external NDT test which I wrote the WPS.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, Maintaining, and organizing mechanical documentation which includes tenders, FAT procedures & ITPs, Piping and instrumentation drawings General arrangement drawings along with datasheets and risk assessment matrix ensuring accurate information and accessibility for the project team and the Clients.
  • Reviewing As-Builts and working on prototype drawings which are used in technical Bids ( especially for UAE)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Interact with suppliers, contractors and customers to identify material problems and process resolutions.
  • Facilitating clear communication between various stakeholders, including Client project managers, and sub-contractors, which includes scheduling meetings, distributing minutes, and ensuring information flows efficiently throughout the different project teams.
  • Working effectively in budget monitoring by tracking project expenses, processing invoices and generating variations for out-of-scope project requirements while consulting with the Clients and their project team while minimizing the impact it has on the project timeline.
  • Assisting in identifying project risks and critical paths of the projects while maintaining risk registers/matrix while supporting risk mitigation efforts.
  • Performed audits of the inhouse manufactured pumps to verify conformity to regulation requirements and streamline processes to save cost and time.
  • Working on the procurement processes which includes obtaining quotes (RFQs), issuing purchase orders and managing deliveries to ensure materials/parts arrive on site as scheduled.
  • Preparing Monthly & Regular progress reports, compiling obtaining data sheets and assist in generating project performance metrics for project review meetings with the directors.
  • Assisting in Bid stages ( by creating a Bill of material) , ensuring compliance (including Hazardous area skids), and facilitating communication between the clients and the stakeholders.
