Jack Dowd

A little bit about myself, a 17 year old young fella named jack, a 2nd year plant machinery mechanic from the hawkesbury area, whilst i may only be 17 I can assure you that i am very hard working, reliable, organized and keen young bloke who loves to work. I am currently seeking a farm hand position on a turf farm, im super keen to get taught whatever is necessary, will give anything required a go,

From a very young age i was in the hot seat of farm and earthmoving machinery having grown up around them my whole life, as far as i can remember i was begging to leave school and work on the farm i grew up on, every second i wasn't at school i was helping feeding cattle or helping plough a paddock in the tractor until eventually i got old enough to do it all by myself at the young age of 11. if you needed dirt moved or a paddock ploughed i was the young fella more then happy to do it and didn't expect nothing in return.

As time went on i slowly started picking up work on farms driving tractors out west & often for quite some time would help out on a turf farm in windsor, that's where my love of turf farming started, i was always keen early hours of a Saturday morning to jump in the truck and go out on turf deliveries helping unstrap and strap or unload the pallets at the farm, that led to me picking up work on occasional laying jobs as a 15 year old. I was always excited and keen to come in and help out whether it be helping seed paddocks to washing trucks anything to help out, i have never been scared to try new things and learn. These days i spend my spare time riding horses, going out bush helping mates on farms from driving a trucks moving hay in the day to hunting at night. Trucks have been something ive been obsessed with my whole life, i often attend truck shows entering my own trucks, i enjoy washing them, love truck photography and could honestly look at them all day long.

At the end of year 10 completing my schooling life and acquiring my year 10 certificate i went on to get a job as a cert 3 plant mechanic apprentice. fast forwards im 14 months into it and as great as it is learning new things its not the career i want to peruse so i have made the long thought about decision to pull the pin and start looking for a bigger better opportunity i can continue on with. I have basic mechanic knowledge although have always been mechanically minded. I have a current drivers license & my own Ute/toolbox full of tools
