D & J A Jones is a large farming enterprise that also does haulage and Biogas production across 4 different sites across Yorkshire.

Whilst working for D & J A Jones I have managed to upskill massively. During our busiest times of the year when we are harvesting for the Biogas plant I can be running a crew of up to 10 relief staff plus our normal 5 full time staff. I pride myself on finding the right people for the job and this has taught me how to overcome problems and deal with many different people. This also included training new operators, sharing knowledge of best practices and promoting a culture of teamwork amongst the workers.

In the winter months we focus on putting new roads in and maintaining yards. This mainly includes using Metso crushers, McCloskey screener's, Hyundai and Volvo diggers, Cat moxys and Cat and Volvo loaders to perform the task.

Whilst working for D & J A Jones I took some time off to work in Australia to see if I liked it, knowing I had a job to go back to in the UK.

Here at A W Ag I operated a large variety of machines on the agricultural side and the earth moving side of the business. In the harvest I drove a large John Deere header with a 40foot front, and also carted maize on a large JCB Fastrac and 30 ton tri-axle trailer.

On the earthmoving side I operated a scraper behind a John Deere 8470, I loaded screens with a 30t Kobelco and did a lot of moving dirt and aggregates with a Cat Moxy and Hitachi 370 loader.

I came back to D & J A Jones for summer in the UK and now i am seeking employment in WA.

Having worked for two large companies it has given me opportunity to operate various types of machinery, demonstrating versatility and adaptability in diverse work environments
