Jacob Melsen

I am a highly-motivated individual with a strong desire to take on new challenges. I have a strong work ethic, adaptability, and what i believe to be exceptional interpersonal skills. I am adept at working effectively unsupervised and quickly learning new job roles. Most importantly I give everything my best attempt and have a want for self improvement and success. I have only worked independently since 2020 as I have wanted to focus on my studies and have also completed extensive travel. I am ideally looking to join the workforce on a part time basis. In this specific instance i would prefer a 3 day work week. In a teaching setting I have majored in English and History but have a preference for History/ Humanities. In my past 2 placements I have taught and worked alongside a Year 7, 8 and 9 class. I enjoy working with this age range especially due to my background in childcare. Although these students are substantially older than the children i worked with previously, I thoroughly enjoy the eagerness to learn from this age demographic. In my teaching so far i have really enjoyed finding ways to show these students the real world application of the subjects they are being taught and make attempts at getting the students interested and excited to learn each topic i have covered with them.

• In my spare time i enjoy travelling, learning about new cultures and customs, cooking, watching documentaries and learning new things, film, art, reading and debating. I also work with a local charity organisation and in my spare time I collect items for the homeless.
