During my Duke of Edinburgh Award, I completed a structured program that developed my teamwork, leadership, and resilience. The experience required consistent commitment across four components — service, physical activity, skill development, and an overnight expedition.
As part of my expedition, I worked closely within a small team to plan routes, manage equipment, and navigate unfamiliar environments. This taught me how to communicate clearly, stay organised under pressure, and adapt quickly when unexpected challenges arose, such as weather changes or navigation difficulties. I also learned the importance of supporting others, taking initiative, and maintaining a positive attitude even when tired or outside my comfort zone.
