  • Creation of Town Centre Reports for four of the town centres of which Council has significant land holdings
  • Strategic analysis of holdings considering future uses, acquisitions and development opportunities
  • Annual statutory valuation of the Council’s investment portfolio including commercial, retail, industrial and development properties having regard to both Capitalisation and Direct Comparison methodologies
  • These valuations are audited annually by external auditors
  • Valuation and negotiations for acquisitions which can entail face to face meetings with external Valuers to negotiate a desired outcome for both Council and the land owner
  • Instruction of external Valuers including developing brief, reviewing quotes, comprehensive instructions and quality assurance process of reports
  • Responsible for planning and reviewing of valuation work to be completed to ensure required timeframes are met for desired acquisition and divestment outcomes
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of planning instruments including Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plans which are required when determining the highest and best use of land
  • General advice as required to other members of the department and wider Council in relation to Valuation projects, long term acquisition plans and lease negotiations
  • Excellent understanding and application of Statutory Valuations for all of Council’s land holdings
  • Leads the statutory valuation process of Council’s Community and Operational every five years including the quality assurance process
