ABOUT ME:
From a very young age I have always displayed a passion for helping others. At the age of five I was helping my elderly neighbours mow and maintain their lawns and gardens. Getting older I graduated to helping and assisting my brother with his schizophrenia and health issues, as well as advocating for those who face mental health or disability challenges during their lifetime and additionally throughout my schooling and working years I enjoyed educating and making others aware on this matter which partly included sharing different ways to approach, cater to or perceive individuals with mental health and/or a disability; aka the perception that those with schizophrenia are dangerous or on drugs when in reality they are lovely individuals, just like us who sometimes just require a little more love and attention.
Upon starting high-school I then became my Nans career and assisted her in community outings, shopping, meal preparation, domestic duties and general care to respect her desire of never wanting to go to into a nursing home. I continued my love for helping people and shortly after I joined the surf lifesaving club at age 15 and stayed doing this for four years at Toowoon Bay beach. I spent most weekends and weekdays there and not only had the opportunity to save lives but also be trained by some of the best life savers on the coast. This was an amazing opportunity as I was also able to keep the beaches clean, safe and enjoyable for all. I juggled this hobby with another; Australian Army Cadets, where I completed both practical and theoretical military training, disciplinary training, fitness training and gathered worldly and historical education. I had the opportunity to travel Australia with this hobby and learned several extensive life skills for a range of diverse situations, all while obtaining practical and theoretical practise with daily tasks and challenges in order to know how to conquer any conditions one may face during their day-to-day life. I continued this hobby from the ages of 13 to 16 and finished up confident with my developed knowledge and have carried the skills I obtained from this for the rest of my life. I At high school I was a confident and intrigued individual and was proudly one of the only males to choose art and cooking. For this I done drama, musicals, plays and all things creative and gave 110% in all aspects.
Additionally, I enjoy being active, watching movies, I have always had a love for animals and enjoy surrounding myself and interactingwith them as much as possible, I’m a history fanatic; commonly known by friends and family as the go to person on the subject and while at school gaining several academic achievement awards on both history and English. I am always pleased to meet new people, listen to new stories and am always eager to learn more about the world.
I am currently working for complete staff solutions, communicating closely with my co workers and employers in who I have created great friendships. By developing a system of trust by always be reliable upon call whenever needed. Working in various fields such as making pet food, to fruit juices and food facilities.
My role was to help people live their best life and support them to become more independent. I did personal care, meal prep, life skills, emotional support, transport, assisting with community and daily activities, cleaning, household tasks, art therapy and music therapy. I am happy that this role has abled me to get to implement this into a professional setting.
I obtained casual employment working at various schools and office buildings as a cleaner, I was quickly awarded of my efforts and became a full time worker. I worked closely with the staff and assisting in outside activities such as cleaning gutters, mowing the lawn, cleaning, sanitising and and attended to complaints people had with any presentation of the workplace.
I gained casual employment at Grill’d healthy burgers. I was task focused, good with people and managed my time proficiently and often got volunteered to deal with complaints or difficult customers when others couldn’t. I was lucky enough to go to our local farms and see the fresh produce. I loved working along side my peers, overseeing the rosters and making quick under pressure decisions and manage a team.
