Working on Royal Australian Navy ships as an electrician carrying out maintenance and servicing.
Some tasks include:
- Disconnecting / reconnecting electrical equipment
- Fault finding problems on electrical equipment
- Testing motors, transformers, pressure transducers, cables and new installations
- Servicing, maintaining boat cranes, gantry cranes, ammo lifts, food lifts
- Running new cables and terminating
- Surveying switchboards and rectifying any defects
- Carrying out NATA load testing on defence equipment while getting current readings and measurements
- Thermographic surveys of switchboards, Vibration Analysis of motors
- Operate IT loader on surface at batch plant to load a hopper with aggravates, dust and sand
- Batch a load of fibrecrete into the Agi and slump test it to standards that are required
- Operate the Agi down the underground mine to the area that has been assigned to be sprayed with fibrecrete
- Use of a control box at the back of the truck to discharge the fibrecrete into the spraymec
- Preparation and setting up site for soft demolition
- Soft strip demolition using hand tools
- Removal of non friable asbestos
- General labouring on site
