Jamal Charmand

Dedicated and globally experienced professional with a unique background of traveling to 149 countries, engaging with diverse Deaf and disability communities worldwide. As a Deaf individual, I bring lived experience and a deep understanding of accessibility, communication, and inclusion. Through these journeys, I have learned many forms of international sign language and gained invaluable knowledge by meeting Deaf and people with disabilities across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. I also serve as an excellent Deaf translator, bridging gaps when Deaf individuals cannot fully understand Auslan or other formal interpreters by translating into their own home sign languages, both in Australia and internationally. These experiences have strengthened my cross-cultural communication skills and inspired me to advocate for improved education, accessibility, and support systems for people with disabilities. Passionate about driving positive change, I aim to contribute expertise in inclusive practices, cultural awareness, and community engagement to create better opportunities for future generations.
