Summary

My current role started in June 2024, where I joined MaxCap Group to form part of their Private Wealth team. MaxCap is renowned as one of Australia's leading Commercial Real Estate Debt providers, with over $21bn deployed across originated and managed investments, and c.$7bn in FUM. As part of the Private Wealth, Asset Management Division, my core responsibilities involve managing wholesale investors with an average investment size of AUD$500k-$1m.

Over the past 12 months, I have facilitated client investments ranging from $100k-$50m. I deal with client investments via structures such as; SMSF, Company, Trust, Join Account or Personal Accounts for both domestic and internationally based investors. My interest in Business, Finance, Investments, and Economics stems back to 2016, where I attended the University of Oxford summer school (Economics Course), which focussed on macroeconomic and microeconomic policy integration and global/domestic impacts, such as Brexit (at the time), including shock absorption policy measures.

From there, I decided to broaden my education with courses from institutions such as; RG146 – Financial Advice – Kaplan Financial, Harvard Business School Online (Technology Entrepreneurship: Lab to Market, Business/Commerce), Harvard Business School Online (Exercising Leadership: Foundational Principles, Organizational Leadership), Stanford University Online (Innovation and Entrepreneurship), In addition to broadening my education, I have worked in client facing industry roles for 6+ years. I'm looking to take the next step in my career, and remain open to a new and exciting challenge - a step change in my career - an opportunity, where I can take my transferable skills into a dynamic organisation in order to further enhance, learn, and develop my skills while contributing to a successful team environment.

Associate - Private Capital

  • Management of HNW/Family Office investors, both existing and new
  • Managing all written, telephone and face to face investor meetings and enquiries
  • Working closely with Director and Head of Capital to achieve targets and grow the MaxCap Investment Trust Fund (MIT)
  • Structuring, writing and sending out briefing paper material for single asset deals funded and originated by MaxCap to prospective clients for investment
  • Successfully closing and funding SPV deals
  • Meeting and exceeding KPI's for my responsibilities to grow the MIT Fund
  • Heavily assisting the Operations Team with the rollover from one fund to another, proactively taking on responsibility to successfully rollover $250m into the MIT Fund, personally dealing with over 200 clients in the process.

  • Company Overview: Monochrome Group is an Investment Manager of Australia's only crypto-asset authorised retail Bitcoin Fund, Monochrome Bitcoin Fund (IBTC), bridging the gap between unregulated crypto markets and traditional markets through regulated product structures that provide protection and frameworks required by investors when accessing this emerging asset class.
  • Poached by Founder and CEO, Jeff Yew, who was the former co-founder and CEO of Binance Australia
  • Core focus was client management and fund distribution (Monochrome Bitcoin Fund - IBTC)
  • Building relationships with Family Office and HNWI's
  • Driving relationships with new and existing investors to educate them around IBTC as a way to own Bitcoin in a single regulated structure
  • Demonstrated skills of patience, communication, and problem solving with different investors
  • Unfortunately the cryptocurrency market decline in 2022 led to a large industry wide staff lay off.
