I have and continue to work in all areas of the emergency department including In-charge clinically, triage, resus, emergency calls to all areas of the hospital, mental health, paediatrics, all adult care and maternity care. This requires that I am able to,

• As a clinical nurse specialist, I have worked in all areas of the emergency department with a high focus on paediatric care.
• I have previously been the paediatrics champion for the emergency department and I have taught Resus4kids and DETECT junior when required, paediatric assessment, paediatric triage, insertion of nasogastric tubes and nasopharangeal aspiration.
• I have been responsible for the role out of paediatric sepsis within the department and have sourced and set up the paediatric emergency trolley in relation to this.
• I have assisted in the development of a user friendly guide to rashes and the correct terminology to describe them.
• I have sourced and introduced laceraine into the department with a guide to its correct use.
• I would like to introduce a package to develop the skills and competencies of nurses and medical staff in paediatric cannulation.

• In this role I have been responsible for education and teaching new students in all clinical areas of nursing.

• I have previously been employed as a school nurse on a part time basis providing care both at the school and at the boarding house for high school students.

• I help to facilitate nursing students both from university and TAFE with their nursing placements throughout the hospital when required.

• I have worked in all areas of the Operating Theaters including anesthetics, scrub nurse, scout nurse and recovery.

• Worked as a district nurse on vacation relief at Sofala Clinic and surrounding areas.

• I worked in most areas of the hospital including maternity, paediatrics, surgical, medical and aged care.

• Employed on a full time basis in the Recent Graduate Program gaining experience in Gerontology, Endocrinology, Drug and Alcohol, Orthopedics and Vascular Surgery.

• Employed on a casual basis as an assistant in nursing.
