Contract Project - Covid Project Supervisor

Working directly with the Project Manager and local council representatives to carry out a large scale Sewerage project during challenging times.

Managing multiple sub-contractors, crew leaders and field staff.

BOMBALA SEWERAGE INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADE

Snowy Monaro Shire Council

The project involved redirecting flows through the town to the replacement Timor St pump station, allowing all Bombala township flows to be discharged to the new Bombala Sewage Treatment Plant inlet works via a single pressurised main. This also required a new pump station to service additional properties and the Bombala High School.

The project required standby pumps and emergency storage concrete tanks to prevent wet weather overflows at the Timor St pump station, replacement of the existing Bombala River syphon with a new pump station and a pipeline within the Forbes Street Bridge service duct.

Additional works included the transfer of the northern catchment flows to the Timor St pump station via a sewage pump station and rising main.

Scope of work included:

• D&C new SPS x 3
• Construction of 2 emergency storage tanks (6m diameter x 5m deep, 7.5m diameter x 3m deep)
• Installation of 1.2km of DN315 PE pipe
• Installation of 160m of DN150 PVC pipe
• Installation of 250m of DN75 PE pipe
• Decommission and demolition of an existing SPS and associated infrastructure.

Key Achievements:

Oversaw the successful delivery of two major capital works projects with a combined value of $8m for Yarra Valley Water to excellent standards of Quality and Safety, helping to further enhance company brand.

• Responsible for managing a team of Crew leaders and up to 30 field staff in the delivery of large and complex water infrastructure projects.
• Supervising civil works such as trenching, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Concreting, drainage and building works.
• Actively involved in mechanical works such as pump installation, valves, flow meters and packaged pump stations.
• Overseeing electrical installation works, running of sub mains, cabinet installation and commissioning.
• Assisting in the development of key project documents such as PMPs , SWMS and ITPs.
• Planning High Risk Work activities to ensure compliance with WHS regulations.
• Proactively enforcing company HSEQ systems and maintaining a Zero harm policy.
• Implement work schedules and adjust to meet project deadlines.
• Ensured Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality plans are implemented in the field.
• Analysing work sequences and identifying opportunities for process improvements to drive efficiency.

• Undertaking a range of projects for a Melbourne Water preferred contractor.
• Supervising various civil and maintenance projects.
• Overseeing and working on concrete paving and asphalt projects.
• Road re-sheeting, Armaco, signage and drainage.
• Concrete refueling and spillage bunds.
• Pipeline install incl. asset upgrades (AV, Scour, Washout)
• Commercial steel Fencing installs.
• Overseeing a four year Maroondah Aqueduct replacement project.
• Vairious landscape and hard scape projects (Alfred Hostpital Group)
• Liaising with the office daily to assist with cost and budget management.
• Operating machinery as required.
• Managing delivery of civil maintenance contract services including optimisation of safety management, costs, adherence to scope and quality.

• Contributing to a wide range of plumbing installations as both Foreman and within the working group.
• Regular high end works with Oakleigh Property Group, involving both small renovations and full 4-8 apartment construction within Melbourne's inner suburbs including Port Melbourne, Middle Park, Albert Park, Elwood etc.
• Contrubuting to projects including

- 12 room DHS aged care facility (2nd stage Foreman)

- Govt. new housing project (Mackie Homes)

- Forest Hill Chase refurbishment as day shift Foreman (Hacer Group)

- Rosebud Hostpital upgrade Foreman (Lloyd Group)

- YPARC youth rehabilitation clinic Frankston Foreman.

- Nexus Business Park, Mulgrave (Hacer Group)

- DFO Melbourne, all sites (Colonial) grease pits, water services, shop rough ins etc.

• Leading and working with a small team reinstating all surrounding property.
• Leading a team of (5) tradespeople.

• Working between two small plumbing companies, learning both domestic, semi commercial and civil plumbing and construction.
• Contracting to SE water, CW water and YV water for water main replacement, hydrant install, 20mm - 150mm main to meter installs, Peninsular sewer upgrade etc.
• With installations using materials such as PE. HDPE, AC, MSCL, CICL, DICL etc.
• Contracting to CTS Complete Tapping Service performing tappings 20 - 300mm, aqua and hydraulic ram water main shut downs.
