I worked with a mobile Diesel mechanic travelling to many different worksites and meeting different people.

I am a fast learner and after a year I was being sent out to do services on 20-30 ton machines on my own. I greatly increased the productivity of people I worked with by anticipating equipment that would be required and giving suggestions that were often overlooked. I also learnt many practical skills with tools and machinery which translated well to equipment in the health sector. Patient hoists, IV pumps and other drainage lines were very easy to understand and intuitive for me to use.

KFC was a fast faced work environment that taught me a many valuable skills. Being such a big regulated franchise I quickly learnt the importance of understanding policies and following procedures.

As A cook dealing with raw chicken, KFC introduced me to infection control and keeping a clean work area while you're run of your feet.

When I transitioned to managing I learnt to delegate, multitask and developed important communication skills. Customers can be very emotional about their food, I learnt that I'm calm and very good at de-escalation.
