Technical Director

Develop pathways for players and coaches from grassroots to senior football., Incorporate better standards for player welfare, involving physical and mental health support., Improve and provide coaching resources, regular club coaching conferences and the use of video analysis., The organizing and management of club Academy (youth u13-17) and KJP (junior skill acquisition program u7-12) Providing players with year-round training programs over quarterly cycles that expose players to a high level of technical, tactical, physical and psycho social., Within the last 4 seasons Glenorchy Knights have now produced over 15 Tasmanian youth representive players in the female and male categories. In the 15 years prior to that there had only been one. This is attributed to the expansion of our Knights Junior Program moving from 2 to 3 session per week. The KJP are x3 one hour session per week from February until November. The program covers the technical skills needed to develop competent 1v1 players. We limit playing groups to 4v4 games played in a 25x25yd area. We highlight weekly themes and coach these to the player in the session. There will be a focus on trying to limit the coaching to the themes identified. We aim to limit cues and time spent without being active. Coaching players to always be looking for space and ways to affect the game., 4, True, True, 6

State U1516 Head Coach

2022-2023, Boys Head Coach, Organize trial and select 16 players to travel to National Identification Tournament, Prepare squad for nationals, Provide plan and playing model for staff and players, Over 2022 and 2023 I coached the boys 2007 born. In that role I planned and organized our preparation timeline for the 5-day tournaments in 2022 and 2023. Preparing elite level footballers and trying to provide them with the best opportunity to be identified was the number one aim. The success of the two trips I feel was the organization and strong environment created in a short period of time. As head coach we asked the players to set and keep their own standards for behavior and professionalism. Recognizing these are young boys turning to men it was an excellent opportunity for their growth and development in what can be challenging environments. Over the 2 years our results on the pitch varied from disappointing to exceptional, but it was the behavior of the players and their application to representing their state that was most impressive.

Bio

Since 2017 I have worked in various roles with Glenorchy Knights FC and for Football Tasmania. Within those roles I have worked with people and players at a variety of ages and playing levels. It is this exposure that I believe has given me my greatest strength. The ability to connect and relate with people. I believe strongly in player development, growth, and transparency. At senior level I have a clear playing style that has consistently provided competitive teams, ones that have won major trophies whilst not compromising the club’s commitment to player development. My roles working with junior and youth players have given me the opportunity to share football with players still new in their football journey. I enjoy providing support that is clear and simple for aspiring players and enjoy more then anything seeing their development and increased engagement. I believe I carry a reputation as a tactically astute and highly effective coach, one that is honest, consistent, and decisive.
