Knowledge And Abilities

  • The experience to plan and perform scheduled, un-scheduled maintenance and installations of various machinery and engines.
  • Mechanical: Experience in planning and performing scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance, installations of diesel engines.
  • Electrical: Maintenance of electrical equipment and fault finding. Assisted electrician with new installation of freezer unit and flood light installations and repairs. Organised with electrician the electrical refit of the Sea Princess generators and switchboard upgrades.
  • Refrigeration: Able to efficiently run, maintain and fault find refrigeration plants.
  • Pumps: Experienced in reconditioning of pumps, maintaining hi-pressure pumps. Designing and installing ballast, brine and other pumping systems.
  • Deck machinery: Experienced in the operation and maintenance of deck winches, capstans and cranes.
  • Hydraulics: Experienced in repairing and maintaining hydraulic systems. Involved in the installation of a new design trawl winch, installing hydraulics under supervision of the hydraulic engineer. Repair and rebuilding of cranes.
