In all my previous employment, I have been required to effectively communicate with customers, general public, work colleagues and superiors. This includes face to face, telephone, and email. These skills have served me well in moving into health promotion, as they engage people and inspire behaviour change., I have developed the ability to lead groups of people, including students and community members by finding their level of interest and motivating shared collaboration. This has helped me in indigenous community health promotion and raising awareness and motivating youth to seek healthier choices. My passion is to see Aboriginal people empowered and well; both individuals and entire communities., I have developed good customer service skill in high-pressure situations and atmospheres, helping me maintain a sense of perspective 'when under pressure'., I am passionate about physical fitness and sports, and like to motivate others to join in on the fun of group sports. This works well in motivating my people, to exchange with preventative healthy lifestyles - i.e. improved nutrition, physical exercise, reducing chronic disease-causing behaviours (drinking, smoking, etc.) and building social and emotional well-being., Being a young, single mother has taught me to be independent and assertive and to understand the pressures of life on people in similar situations.
