After many years working in the Television and Film industry in Australia I moved from Australia to the USA in February 2011. Since the move, I have worked independently on real estate remodelling and many volunteer projects including, but not exclusive to, the production of the Admission video for Marin Primary & Middle School and the 8th Grade Graduation video 2015. I produced, wrote and directed on Final Cut ProX. Beyond my personal experience with horses I believe strongly in their therapeutic power, to that end I now serve as Secretary to the Board of Directors for Giant Steps - the largest and most successful Equine Therapy program in California, based out of Sonoma Horse Park @ Petaluma this was an incredible and valuable experience, meeting with clients who are propounding benefiting from this program. I also own a horse, and working with trainers to develop this young horse has been an amazing experience.

Co ordinated grant applications, drafting and processing applications.
All aspects of running a busy production office
Recruitment and supervision of two junior staff members as well as temporary staff as required.
Blackfella Films is an independent film, television and documentary production company specialising in writing and producing uniquely Australian content. During the time I worked for Blackfella Films, the company grew significantly and has continued to be successful with secured long-term funding and development partnerships in place.
My deep understanding of the film production process has enabled me to be highly effective in a working environment that is characterized by tight deadlines, project-based work and creative output.
Blackfella Films receives a high volume of unsolicited calls and enquiries by both phone and email. I have become very skilled at fielding such calls with professionalism and courtesy, re-directing the callers appropriately as needed, and minimizing the amount of calls that are put through to the directors.
I have implemented an iphone application for the organization, which is used by key personnel. It is an electronic calendar/diary and enables us to enter and share information on appointments, meetings and deadlines.
As I left Blackfella Films to move to the US, I spent time prior to my departure assisting the directors to plan for the ongoing development of their business. This involved documenting position descriptions and creating formal performance measures for new staff. Blackfella Films has continued to grow and prosper, and the foundations were solid.

At this stage Foxtel was producing its own long-format shows locally and I worked extensively to use local talent in promotional interstitials and campaigns to promote Fx.
Foxtel would bring out celebrities from the US, and I became extremely skilled at interviewing them in a short space of time and then scripting and editing the material to maximize the promotional use of the celebrity.

I was successful in managing inexperienced creative staff, excelling in bringing out creativity in others while achieving the company’s overall business goals.
Developed and promoted key new channels – Fox 8, Fx and Fox Kids.
Senior Promotions Producer
Foxtel Australia
Sydney, Australia
01.1995 - 01.2003
In this start up role, I was charged with the establishment and development the Foxtel brand in Australia. Flagship channels included World Movies, History Channel, Fox 8 and Fx. In the initial period, there were no commercials on the channel and no local content.
Develop and promote the Foxtel Brand, a start up identity including creating and implementing consumer campaigns to generate demand
Create short-format Australian programs using local talent such as Hugh Jackman
Create interstitials, to fill gaps between 20 minute imported programs

As Executive Producer for the promotional campaign “Hot Fox” I designed a campaign to win audience share over the summer, the traditional downtime for the Free-To-Air networks. Hot Fox; which consisted of a cinema ad, commercial TVCs and print advertisements, won a Silver Promax Award for “best marketing and promotion for a TV channel”. The campaign was judged against entries from around the world.
I used my strong script-writing skills to create promotions for foreign films – Foxtel was not permitted to put subtitles to foreign movie promos, so local promotions had to be created from scratch.
Network Promotions Producer
Channel 7
, Australia
01.1992 - 01.1995
Responsible for all network Television and Radio promotions for News and Current Affairs programs both on a daily basis and when required for specific productions.
I joined Channel 7 in order to work with Gerald Stone, then Head of News at Channel 7.
This was an extremely demanding role and required me to produce original, 30-second promos every day, meeting a 1pm deadline. I had to write compelling scripts, and these had to be approved by several managers, including the Head of News and Head of Marketing. I would then edit the material to go live to air, liaising with graphic designers and with sales departments to ensure the best possible product went to air.
During the 1992 Sydney bushfires I was on call around the clock to produce ongoing promotional updates of the breaking news.
Project Manager
Astro Television Malaysia
, Malaysia
01.2003
I was employed to develop a training program for young, Malaysia-based promotional producers. The objective of the project was to improve the writing and production skills of the group.
Challenges of the role: promotions in Malaysia are designed for five different cultural groups and languages: English, Malay, Cantonese, Bahasa and Hindi. I had to be aware of the cultural sensitivities of the environment in which my clients were working. Six unique film shoots, tight to budget, carried out simultaneously, proved challenging and rewarding.
