Departments including BreastScreen Reading and Assessment Centre (located at Moorabbin Hospital), 7 external Screening sites within Monash BreastScreen catchment, Breast Surgery, Breast Care, Breast Research and Breast Consulting Clinics. External stakeholders include BreastScreen Victoria, McGrath Foundation, and IMED imaging.
  • Business plan to introduce 2 new screening sites (Cranbourne and Pakenham) to Monash BreastScreen Service. In progress
  • Transfer private breast consultant clinic under the governance of Monash Health; including transition to e-referral, establishment new booking processes and clinic templates, review of staff profiles and workflow responsibilities, MBS billing, Private Practice agreements. In progress due to go-live Dec 1.
  • Review of Breast Care Nurse model of Care across multiple sites of the service; resulting change to operational structure within Breast Services including reclassification of the Nurse Unit Manager role.
  • Successful business case submission to introduce Patient Navigator role (new role to Monash Health) and MDT/data coordinator to the service.
  • Successful Business Case submission to secure funding for replacement of 3 Mammography modalities across the service in partnership with BreastScreen Victoria (750K). Managed project across 3 sites which also included Capital works project to accommodate new equipment.
  • Developed partnership with McGrath Foundation; negotiated to date to fund 3.2EFT Breast Care Nurses across Monash Health. Negotiated an education agreement to support Breast Care Nurses across Monash Health.
  • Developed partnership with McGrath Foundation, SMICS and Monash University to develop a training program for Metastatic Breast Care Nurse training Australia wide (based at Moorabbin Hospital). Approved Research submission to “evaluate the impact of the metastatic breast cancer nurse training program.” Australia first to use a robot for remote learning during COVID. Recent media attention Herald Sun, Channel 7 News, ANMF magazine, Victorian Tumor Summit. 3 Abstracts submitted for International and National Breast Cancer Conferences
